Project Z

Project Z

Effective teamwork depends on people sharing information openly, understanding one another’s perspectives, and coordinating their efforts towards a common goal. Yet in fast-moving work environments, communication gaps, siloed thinking, and unclear responsibilities can prevent teams from seeing the full picture and responding effectively.

Project Z is an immersive team development workshop where participants take on complementary roles both inside and outside a virtual reality environment, working together to escape a kidnapping scenario and uncover the identity of the real kidnapper. Success depends on how effectively team members communicate, listen, connect clues, and support one another under pressure. The experience makes workplace dynamics visible, revealing how easily silos can form when information is fragmented or assumptions go unchallenged.

Participants will learn to:

  • Recognise how information gaps, assumptions, and siloed thinking can affect team performance.
  • Communicate clearly and share critical information so that the team can build a complete understanding of the situation.
  • Strengthen active listening and questioning skills to uncover important perspectives and details.
  • Collaborate effectively across different roles, responsibilities, and sources of information.
  • Apply creative and critical thinking to solve complex problems under time pressure.
  • Develop greater empathy by appreciating the challenges, constraints, and perspectives experienced by other team members.

Whether the objective is to strengthen team relationships, improve communication, or create a more collaborative workplace, the workshop gives participants a shared experience from which meaningful conversations and practical changes can emerge.
