From Awareness to Action: Disability Inclusion in the Workplace is a one-day interactive workshop designed to equip employers, managers, HR professionals, and executives across all roles, with the skills, knowledge, and confidence to create inclusive workplaces for persons with disabilities and their colleagues. This workshop focuses on practical strategies and meaningful engagement to promote a positive and supportive environment for persons with disabilities and their co-workers.

Participants will explore key concepts such as understanding the different types of disabilities in Singapore’s context, basic etiquette in interacting with persons with disabilities, and providing accommodation and support in the workplace for persons with disabilities. Through real-world case studies, group activities, and open discussions, attendees will gain valuable insights into the opportunities and business value of working alongside persons with disabilities.

Ultimately, this workshop aims to break down barriers, dispel myths, and encourage a mindset shift that celebrates the unique strengths and contributions of persons with disabilities. Together, we can create a workplace where everyone can thrive and succeed.

By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:

Herk Ng

Recently named as a “LinkedIn Top Voice in Social Impact”, Herk is a consultant and ACLP-certified trainer. By helping companies in leadership and management development, social impact and social sustainability (the “S” in ESG), and environmental sustainability, Herk supports his clients to develop new areas of growth and build kinder and better workplace cultures. His previous engagements include KPMG, Danone, UOB, the Ministry of Education, and Ambulance Wish Singapore, and he is also an associate adult educator with Korn Ferry, SG Enable and Social Service Institute.

Herk has spent more than 10 years across different senior leadership roles in the social and sustainability sectors. As Assistant Chief Executive of SG Enable, the focal agency for disability in Singapore, he spearheaded Singapore’s disability-inclusive employment efforts, and led the development of the Enabling Village – an inclusive community space which has won many awards for its social impact. As Director of Strategic Planning in the National Council of Social Service (NCSS), he led the development of the 5-year strategy roadmap for Singapore’s social sector. And as Director of Strategic Management in the Singapore International Foundation, he established multiple collaborations with different NGOs across ASEAN, China, and India, to build up capabilities and develop networks between regional partners.
